Job summary

Air Education and Training Command seeks a qualified operator to maintain and operate an Energy Monitoring and Control System (EMCS) and related utility systems supporting Lackland AFB, Medina Annex, and Kelly Annex. The position emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, safety, and accurate reporting.

The incumbent will monitor HVAC components, diagnose faults, interpret diagrams, and ensure compliant operation of fire and intrusion alarm systems as part of a disciplined engineering team.

Qualifications

Job description

The primary purpose of this position is to operate and maintain an Energy Monitoring and ControlSystem(EMCS); heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) controls, fire and intrusion alarm systems,and otherutility systems which support Lackland AFB, the Medina Annex, and Kelly Annex

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5400 Industrial Equipment Operation Family, Utility Systems Operator, . Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-crown positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed and, show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The screen out element for this position is Ability to perform the duties of a UTILITY SYSTEMS OPERATOR without more than normal supervision.
