Job summary

Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium seeks a skilled Civil Engineer to support rural water and wastewater facilities, training operators, and improving sanitation infrastructure. The role covers field work in remote Alaskan communities and collaboration with DEHE and tribal partners.

Minimum education is ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering with relevant experience. Travel to remote sites, supervision at higher levels, and ongoing professional development are expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of civil water resources engineering and construction for cold climates.
• Knowledge of mechanical processes and chemical treatments for water and wastewater systems.
• Skill in operating a PC with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to apply mathematics, science, and engineering to design and analyze systems.
• Lifelong learning mindset and familiarity with modern engineering tools.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations.

Responsibilities

• Provide consulting for the design, repair, upgrade, and minor construction of water and wastewater facilities.
• Provide operator training and hands-on instruction for plant operators.
• Respond to technical assistance and emergency responses in communities.
• Coordinate technical support with DEHE, other departments, regional health organizations, and the State of Alaska.
• Lead or mentor staff and participate in project management as assigned.
