Position Summary:

The utility associate performs a variety of tasks in the food and beverage department including but not limited to dishwashing, trash control, and helping to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Essential Functions:

• Performs dish and pot washing and general cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining room area
• Distributes and stores clean pots, dishes, and utensils
• Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces, and the kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures
• Empties trash containers as required
• Notifies the Director of Food and Beverage or maintenance of any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe kitchen
• Assumes responsibility for personal safety and the safety of residents
• Discloses any medication that might impair the ability to perform the job safely or competently

Non-Essential Functions:

• Leads by example, exhibiting the CORE Values through servant leadership
• Possesses a passion for working with and around senior citizens
• Attends required community meetings and participates in Life Enrichment activities when able
• Completes all required courses in adherence with HRA University
• Familiarizes with and understands fire evacuation procedures
• Maintains a safe and secure environment for all residents

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in cooking for large groups is a plus
• Knowledge of state food-handling and kitchen regulations preferred
• Knowledge of OSHA standards, fire, and safety procedures preferred
