Position Summary: The utility associate performs a variety of tasks in the food and beverage department, including but not limited to dishwashing, trash control, and helping to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Essential Functions

1. Performs dish and pot washing and general cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining room area.
2. Distributes and stores clean pots, dishes, and utensils.
3. Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces, and the kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
4. Empties trash containers as required.
5. Notifies the Director of Food and Beverage or any malfunctioning kitchen equipment or appliances.
6. Maintains a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.
7. Owns safety responsibilities for oneself and residents.
8. Discloses any medication that might impair ability to perform the job safely or competently.

Non-Essential Functions

1. Leads by example, exhibiting the CORE Values through servant leadership.
2. Possesses a passion to work with and around senior citizens.
3. Attends required community meetings and participates in Life Enrichment activities when able.
4. Completes all required courses in adherence with HRA University.
5. Familiarizes with and understands fire evacuation procedures.
6. Maintains a safe and secure environment for all community residents.

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience in cooking for large groups is a plus.
3. Knowledge of state food-handling and kitchen regulations (preferred).
4. Knowledge of OSHA Standards and fire and safety procedures (preferred).
