Job summary

Samuel Knight Energy & Digital Infrastructure is seeking a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of utility-scale solar projects across the United States. This field-facing role requires coordinating site teams, managing budgets, and driving the project through NTP to COD with rotation on site.

The successful candidate will have proven solar project management experience, strong cost control skills, and the ability to lead multiple teams and subcontractors while traveling

Responsibilities

• Drive schedules and look-ahead milestones through energization and COD.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, and logistics for modules and HV equipment.
• Represent owner/developer/utility with AHJ and commercial interfaces.

Job description

(Advertised as remote, as there is no fixed location for the role and to reach a full national audience. You'll be based on site, with project locations varying across the US and a typical rotation of 3 weeks on site, 1 week home.)

Samuel Knight Energy is partnering with established and growing utility-scale solar EPC contractors to recruit Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to lead the delivery of 40MW–500MW solar projects across the United States.

This is a field-facing role. You'll own your project from NTP through procurement, construction, commissioning, COD and closeout, leading the site team and acting as the main point of contact for the owner.

The Role

• Full ownership of project delivery: safety, schedule, cost, quality and client relationship.
• Leading site leadership – Construction Managers, Superintendents, Project Engineers and APMs – and holding subcontractors to scope, schedule and quality.
• Managing budgets, forecasts, cost-to-complete, change orders and monthly reporting.
• Driving the schedule and look-aheads against contractual milestones through mechanical completion, energization and COD.
• Coordinating engineering, procurement and logistics for modules, trackers, inverters, transformers and HV equipment.
• Managing owner, developer, utility and AHJ relationships and commercial issues.
• Senior PMs: running larger or multiple projects, mentoring PMs/APMs and supporting pursuits and preconstruction.

What We're Looking For

• Proven PM or Senior PM experience on utility-scale solar (BESS a strong plus) with an EPC contractor.
• Experience taking projects from NTP through COD, ideally 50MW+.
• Strong commercial and cost control background – budgets, forecasting, change management and contracts.
• Confident leading field teams and subcontractors on site.
• Happy to travel and work on site on a rotational schedule across the US.
• Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred; Primavera P6 / Procore experience advantageous.

What's On Offer

• Project Manager: $135,000–$170,000 base. Senior Project Manager: $170,000–$185,000+ base.
• Per diem / travel package and home trips on rotation, plus bonus and benefits (client dependent).
• A clear path toward Senior PM, Project Director and Project Delivery leadership.
