Job summary

Brunel in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead utility-scale solar, BESS and substation projects from NTP to COD. The role sits in a lean U.S. construction team with hybrid office-based work and some site travel.

You’ll own the master schedule and budget, administer EPC subcontracts, report risk and financials to leadership, and coordinate with Preconstruction, Procurement, Contracts, and Finance. This is a real opportunity to shape the PM function.

Qualifications

• PM with utility-scale solar, BESS and/or substation project experience.
• Delivered at least one project from NTP to COD.
• Owns the schedule and budget, not just coordination.
• Strong understanding of EPC contracts, change orders and claims.
• Comfortable in a lean, autonomous team.

Senior Project Manager - Utility-Scale Solar & Energy Storage

Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Brunel is partnering with a global renewable independent power producer to hire a Senior Project Manager for its growing U.S. construction team. The company owns and operates 5+ GW of solar, wind and battery storage assets worldwide and has a strong Texas pipeline. Its U.S. team is lean and sits between a startup and a major growth phase. This is a real chance to build and shape the project management function.

The Role

You’ll own the office-based project management of utility-scale solar, BESS and substation projects from Notice to Proceed through COD. You’ll step straight into a live solar-plus-storage project in Central Texas, then take a large-scale solar and substation project from NTP. You’ll work closely with the field-based Construction Manager and be the link between Preconstruction, Procurement, Contracts and Finance.

What You’ll Do

• Own the master schedule and project budget, including cost tracking, forecasting and variance reporting
• Administer EPC and major subcontracts, and manage change orders, claims, pay applications and RFIs
• Report on project status, risk and financials to leadership
• Coordinate equipment delivery schedules and track vendor risk
• Maintain the risk register and lead project and financial closeout

What You’ll Bring

• PM experience on utility-scale solar, BESS and/or substation projects (100-500+ MWdc), from the owner/developer or EPC side
• At least one project delivered from NTP through COD
• Hands-on ownership of the schedule (Primavera P6 or MS Project) and project budget, not just coordination
• A strong understanding of EPC contract structures, change orders and claims
• Independence, sound judgement and comfort working in a lean, autonomous team
