Job summary

Lightsource bp is seeking a Project Engineer to help deliver utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage system projects across the United States. You will support late-stage development through construction, ensuring technical requirements align with schedules and budgets.

The role suits an engineer with early career experience in renewable projects who wants to deepen technical expertise while delivering complex infrastructure. Travel up to 25% is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SketchUp.
• Experience with solar simulation tools such as PVsyst, PVSol, StorageVAT or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage engineering requirements within EPC contracts and project documentation.
• Support the Tendering team in EPC contractor selection and contract negotiations.
• Provide engineering support to the Project Management team during project execution.
• Review and approve project designs, drawings and technical submittals during development and construction.
• Manage external Owner’s Engineers supporting design reviews and construction oversight.
• Support engagement with Independent Engineers for third party project financing.
• Conduct site visits to support construction progress and milestone verification.
• Coordinate technical RFI responses and gather input from internal subject matter experts.
• Provide technical diligence support for project finance activities.
• Capture and share lessons learned to support continuous improvement in project delivery and operations.
• Develop tools and processes to manage technical requests and track engineering deliverables.
• Represent your discipline in development, delivery and stakeholder meetings as needed.
