Job summary

New Leaf Energy seeks an Interconnection Project Manager to oversee the portfolio of utility-scale interconnection projects. You will coordinate with Engineering, Project Finance, Accounting and Operations to interpret ISO feedback and drive development, engineering and construction actions.

The role requires strong organization, market familiarity across CAISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, PJM, TVA, MISO and SPP, plus a collaborative approach to stakeholder management and policy engagement.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in energy/utilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Policy, Finance, Business, Environmental Science, or Project Management.
• Strong PM, reporting and technical skills; Salesforce and Smartsheet/Microsoft Project; PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead critical path planning and tactical management for application window submissions for a portfolio of projects.
• Develop understanding of New Leaf Energy’s development process and strategy.
• Lead interconnection due diligence and research for new markets; implement processes and problem-solve.
• Create and maintain ISO/region-specific project management infrastructure.
• Read project documents and track key performance metrics in each ISO/region.
• Serve as ISO interconnection SME; advise on strategic planning and tariff guidelines.
• Manage ISO interconnection processes to meet FERC and ISO requirements.
• Daily portfolio management of interconnection applications across multiple ISOs.
• Monitor ISO performance and escalate issues to protect critical paths.
• Coordinate ISO RFIs and internal responses; manage milestones and timelines.
• Onboard and manage third party consultants; maintain long-term ISO relationships.
• Handle project disputes and negotiate outcomes with utilities.
• Engage with policy team for interconnection insights and discussions.
• Participate in policy working groups when required.
• Follow ISO-level interconnection issues and report to team leads.
• Provide guidance for market participation strategy.
