Job summary

Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is seeking a District Utility Agent in the Glendive District. The role coordinates major utility relocation projects, railroad involvement, and contract administration to support road projects and SUE work.

You will provide UPAS support and help advance Bureau operations. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least two years in utilities or related engineering, with the ability to read highway plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Survey, Design/Drafting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in Utilities or related Engineering field.
• Ability to read and interpret highway plans (road plans, right of way plans, utility plans, etc.).
• Training assignment may pay below base pay; conditions will be stated at hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate major utility relocation projects and railroad involvement.
• Administer contracts for project-related work and review SUE projects.
• Provide customer support in Utility Permitting Administration System (UPAS).
• Support MDT mission and ongoing Bureau operations and activities.
