Job summary

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a District Utility Agent in the Glendive District. Glendive is the preferred location for this position, but other locations may be considered.

This role coordinates major utility relocation projects, railroad involvement, contract administration, and SUE input, while supporting UPAS customer service and related duties to aid MDT operations. The position reports to the Utility Engineering Supervisor, Utility Construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Survey, Design/Drafting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Utilities or a related Engineering field.
• Ability to read and interpret highway plans (road plans, right of way plans, utility plans, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate major utility relocation projects.
• Coordinate railroad involvement.
• Administer contracts for project-related work.
• Provide input and review of subsurface utility engineering (SUE) projects.
• Provide customer support in Utility Permitting Administration System (UPAS).
