Job summary

RDQ, Inc. in Reno, NV seeks a self-motivated Project Manager to lead transmission and distribution projects for a utility client. You will coordinate engineering teams, contractors, and client stakeholders to align schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

This role requires relocation to Reno or substantial travel up to 75%. The ideal candidate has an ABET-accredited engineering degree, 8+ years of utility project leadership, and strong client-facing communication with PMP or PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• 8+ years of experience supporting electric utility transmission projects with project leadership experience.
• Strong client-facing experience with ability to build relationships and communicate with stakeholders.
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Distribution project experience preferred.
• Familiarity with PLS-CADD and transmission line design processes preferred.
• Willing to relocate to Reno, NV area or travel up to 75% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate transmission and distribution projects from planning through construction with client stakeholders, engineering teams, contractors, and partners.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, deliverables, and resources for successful execution.
• Serve as primary client contact, maintaining relationships, communicating status, and addressing changing priorities.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and facilitate communication among disciplines, client teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Support contracts, scopes of work, technical specs, bid packages, and project documentation.
• Lead project meetings, track decisions, identify risks, and drive resolutions.
• Provide technical and project leadership to team members and mentor less-experienced staff.
• Maintain relationships with existing clients and identify opportunities to expand RDQ’s services.
• Support proposal development, project scoping, and identification of future opportunities.
• Represent RDQ professionally and with a strong commitment to client service.
