Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Utility Plant Operator I to monitor and operate campus utility plants, including boilers, turbines, chillers, emergency generators, and water treatment systems. You will perform hands-on operation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance under senior supervision, upholding safety standards.

The role features a 12-hour fixed shift (days or nights) and a 2-2-3 schedule, with every other weekend off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must attend worksite on a daily basis.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to drive a company vehicle.
• Willingness to comply with ENGIE safety policies.
• This role includes 10% outdoor work with exposure to weather conditions.
• Strong attendance and punctuality to support safe operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant systems, take readings, and adjust operations to maintain performance and efficiency.
• Respond to alarms and changing system conditions.
• Perform equipment inspections and basic troubleshooting.
• Execute equipment startup, shutdown, and LOTO procedures.
• Operate boilers, turbines, chillers, generators, and associated utility systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of plant equipment and work areas.
• Communicate effectively with incoming shifts to ensure continuity of operations.
