Job summary

UNMC is seeking a Utility Operator/Trainer to safely operate all utility plant equipment and train new staff within the Utilities department serving the UNMC campus in Omaha. The position is a 24‑month term; scheduling varies and on-site work is required.

Required five years of related experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and valid licenses for City of Omaha stationary engineer grades. Tech training and plant control systems know‑how are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with utility mechanical systems operation and maintenance.
• High school education or equivalent; technical/trade training preferred.

Position Summary

POSTING FOR UNMC EMPLOYEES ONLY
This position is responsible for the safe, efficient, and proper operation of all equipment associated with utility plant and distribution system serving the UNMC /Neb Med campus and directs and trains new employees in the utility department.
This position is for a term of 24 months and can be modified upon agreement of the employee and management.
