Job summary

Carpenter Co. invites applications for a Utility Person in the 2nd shift at our Conover, NC plant. You will support the polyester fiber line by performing production-related tasks and coordinating with operators and supervisors.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, basic reading, writing and math skills, and forklift certification. Shift is Monday–Friday 4:00pm–2:00am, with pay $22.02–$22.75 per hour plus $1 shift differential. Equal opportunity employer.

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Utility Person in our 2nd shift Fiber Department at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant.

Job Summary: Perform various functions associated with production of polyester fiber rolls and sheet materials.

Position Scope: Communicates with machine operators, department supervisor, and coworkers. Works in normal production environment with exposure to temperature changes. Major challenge of the position involves physically handling and controlling the pin on a routine basis in a proficient manner consistent with the speed of the fiber line production.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have basic reading, writing and math Skills.

Must have basic computer experience and be able to use a computer in day-to-day operations.

Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and call-in with little notice.

Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Must be able to read and write English.

Must be able to work with little or no supervision.

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Manufacturing experience preferred. On the job training is provided
