Job summary

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Hose/Nozzle Utility Operator, 1st shift at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant. This position monitors the process of combining chemicals to produce foam for internal and external customers.

The successful candidate will communicate with the pour line, supervisor, manager and technical manager, work in a chemical environment with exposure to chemicals and temperature changes, and be able to learn multiple positions of prime pouring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Pulmonary test and respirator fit test annually.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime.
• Comfortable wearing PPE.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the pour process before, during and after.
• Assist in pre- and post-production of pouring equipment.
• Extensive cleaning of pouring equipment and troughs.
• Determine serviceability of screens and other high-pressure equipment.
• Work with flattop operator to adjust flattop pans.
• Maintain daily communication with supervisor and manager during pouring.

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Hose/Nozzle Utility Operator, 1st shift at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for monitoring before, during and after the process of combining chemicals to product foam for internal and external customers.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain daily communication with all employees on the pour line, the supervisor, manager and technical manager during the pouring process. This position works in a chemical environment with exposure to chemicals and temperature changes.

Your additional responsibilities as a Hose/Nozzle Utility Operator will include:

• Assist in Pre and Post production of pouring equipment
• Extensive cleaning of Pouring equipment.
• Determine serviceability of screens and other high-pressure equipment.
• Work in a chemical production environment with exposure to temperature changes and some unpleasant working conditions.
• Wiling to learn multiple positions of prime pouring
• Clean troughs and other related equipment
• Make trough hoses.
• Work with flattop operator on the other side of the tunnel to adjust flattop pans.

Skills/ Requirements

• Previous chemical experience preferred.
• Prior machine operating experience preferred.
• Must be able to use computerized equipment in day-to-day operations and have computer knowledge.
• Must be able to pass a pulmonary test and respirator fit test on an annual basis.
• Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime.
• Must be comfortable wearing PPE

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Work Hours: 5:30 am- 2:00 pm or depending on business needs

Hourly Rate: $22.94-23.77

Non-Essential Functions

• Haz Mat Spill Team
• Keep platform and work area clean
• Assists with inventory, as required.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
