Job summary

Gehl Foods is hiring a Utility Operator for 1st shift (6am - 2:30pm) in Walterboro, SC. Base pay is $20/hour, with additional pay based on experience and quarterly bonuses tied to team performance.

Qualifications

• 3 years of manufacturing experience in food/process/high-speed packaging or Form-Fill-Seal industries.
• Forklift experience is required.
• Knowledge of aseptic processes, equipment and products.
• Ability to interpret, communicate and execute plans in time-sensitive manner.
• Team-player mindset with reliability and punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross functional production teams and provide coverage to various lines or processes.
• Makes proper hook-ups and line set-up activities for starting and operating lines.
• Organizes and executes rework.
• Ensure line communication boards are filled out.
• Trains new team members on-line operation, equipment and control system operation, documentation and sampling requirements.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and communicating production issues to Supervisor.
• Safely operates a forklift to keep assigned work area supplied with necessary production materials.
• Audits line staff’s paperwork to ensure accuracy and real-time completion.

What You’ll Need

• 3 years of manufacturing experience, ideally in a food, process, high-speed packaging or Form-Fill-Seal industry
• Previous forklift experience
• Technical knowledge of aseptic processes, equipment and products
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to interpret, communicate and execute plans or instructions in a time sensitive manner with limited direction and resources
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (stand for 8+ hours and lift up to 55 lbs)
• Team-player mindset who shows up on time and ready to work
