Job summary

City of Rifle is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on water and wastewater plant equipment. You will also install new mechanical and electrical equipment as needed.

This in-person role requires 3–5 years in industrial maintenance, familiarity with large motors and pumps, and may prefer experience in water treatment plants.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3–5 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance or with industrial electronics/controls equipment.
• Familiarity with high horsepower electric motors, large capacity pumps, hydraulic systems, or motor control circuitry (480V) is preferred.
• Experience in class A or B water or wastewater treatment plant is preferred.

Job description

Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the Utility Director, repairs, maintains, troubleshoots, and performs preventive and predictive maintenance on all water and wastewater treatment plant equipment as assigned. Installs new mechanical and electrical equipment and performs other related duties as assigned. This is an in-person position that is not eligible for regular remote work.

Experience And Training

• Minimum Education:** ** **High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Post High School certificates or college credit hours in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance are preferred.
• Job Requirements:** Valid Colorado Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire. Must be able to pass a background check, MVR with results that are acceptable to the City of Rifle.
• Work Experience in Positions Similar or Related to This Job:** Must have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in industrial equipment maintenance or with industrial electronics / controls equipment. Familiarity with high horsepower electric motors, large capacity pumps, hydraulic systems, or motor control circuitry (480V) is preferred. Experience in class A or B water or wastewater treatment plant is preferred.

This a full-time position with benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance as well as retirement, vacation, sick and holiday pay.

The wage range is $29.82 to $34.35 hourly depending on experience and qualifications.
