Job summary

Gfoat is seeking a qualified water/wastewater maintenance professional in Texas to lead crews, perform operating and maintenance duties, and ensure safety and compliance. The role requires a CDL and state licenses, with opportunities to work on diverse field projects.

Responsibilities include installing, testing, and repairing water systems; operating Vactor and related trucks; coordinating with GIS staff; and handling confined spaces as needed. A strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with two years of water/wastewater maintenance experience.
• Valid Class A CDL Texas driver’s license.
• TCEQ-issued Class C Water Distribution and Collection II Wastewater licenses or higher.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions and provide information to the public and customers.
• Prepare a variety of reports and participate in daily operations.
• Install, test, maintain and repair water or wastewater systems.
• Operate Vactor, wash and rod trucks; assess and troubleshoot sewer systems.
• Work with GIS staff to upgrade maps; conduct restoration of excavation/repair sites.
• Perform directional flushing; operate hydraulic and electric valves and GPS equipment.
• Test and repair 3”–12” water meters.
• Enter confined spaces, manholes and lift stations; ascend towers and descend into vaults.

Job description

Duties include providing leadership, and technical and safety guidance, to crew members; answering questions and providing information to the public and internal and external customers; preparing a variety of reports; and participating in the daily operations of the assigned section. Dependent upon assignment, duties may include installing, testing, maintaining and repairing water or wastewater systems; operating Vactor, wash and rod trucks; assessing and troubleshooting sewer systems; working with GIS staff to upgrade maps; OR conducting restoration of excavation / repair sites; performing directional flushing; operating hydraulic valve, electric valve and GPS equipment; and testing and repairing 3” – 12” water meters. Duties may require entering confined spaces, manholes and lift stations; and dependent upon assignment, also ascending high towers and descending into vaults.

A high school diploma or GED and two years of increasingly responsible experience performing water and
wastewater maintenance (including equipment operation duties) required. Must have a valid Class A CDL Texas driver’s license and currently possess TCEQ-issued Class C Water Distribution and Collection II Wastewater licenses or higher. A résumé must be submitted with application.
PAY GRADE GG18 / FULL PAY RANGE $26.72 - $37.67 PER HOUR ($55,596 - $78,372 ANNUALLY)
