Northern Lights Locating and Inspection, Inc. seeks a full-time Utility Locator to locate underground utilities for clients and property owners under 811 tickets.

You will use maps, as-built drawings, GIS data, and locating equipment, marking locations with flags or paint, and documenting all work. Responsibilities include taking photos for each ticket, preparing detailed reports, and recording marks with a mobile app.

Qualifications

• 2 years locator experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret utility maps and as-built drawings.
• Familiarity with 811 laws and procedures.
• Strong eye for detail and accurate marking of utilities.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities for clients and property owners based on 811 tickets.
• Use utility maps, as-built drawings, GIS data, and locating equipment to identify lines.
• Mark locations with flags or paint; document work and incidents.
• Take photographs of located utilities for each ticket.
• Prepare written reports and memos detailing work performed and issues encountered.
• Record locating marks using company mobile app and complete required paperwork.
• Travel up to 75% and participate in on-call rotations.
