Job summary

Northern Lights Locating & Inspections Inc is seeking a Private Utility Locator to locate underground utilities for clients and property owners in Houston, TX. You will work per 811 tickets and perform GPS mapping.

You will interpret utility maps and as-built drawings, operate locating equipment, and document findings with photos and reports. A cell-phone app will be used to record marks and complete required paperwork.

Qualifications

• 2 years locator experience required.
• Read and interpret utility maps and as-built civil drawings.
• Ability to read 811 tickets and interpret 811 laws.
• Attention to detail and safety compliance.
• Willingness to travel 75%+ and work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities for clients and property owners per 811 tickets.
• Perform hand hole inspections and GPS utility mapping.
• Utilize flags/paint to mark locations and document findings with photos.
• Prepare reports and memos detailing work performed and issues encountered.

Please apply and join the Northern Lights Team!NORTHERN LIGHTS UTILITY LOCATORSTATUS: Full Time, EmployeeRELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 2 years Locator experience required.JOB SUMMARY:Locate underground utilities for clients and property owners based on 811 tickets per 811 dig lawsPerform hand hole inspections and documentation.GPS utility mapping.Uses utility maps, as-built civil engineering drawings, G.I.S. information, and various pipe and electronic locating equipmentUtilizes flags and/or paint to mark the location of underground utilitiesPrepares various reports, forms, and memos to document work completed, and problems encountered and/or resolvedTake pictures of utility line located for each 811 ticketInvestigates and prepares detailed written documentation on excavations that result in damage to underground utilitiesCandidates need to be comfortable with using Cell phone-based app to record locating marks for clients property for excavators and property owners.
