Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for relations with citizens, company, contractor reps and customers.
• Good organizational skills with ability to handle varied tasks.
• Knowledge and understanding of safe worksite practices.
• Experience with construction and installation of below-grade infrastructure.
• Experience with existing utility standard designs.

Responsibilities

• Support underground facility construction activities with focus on damage prevention and protection of utilities.
• Locate and mark underground facilities using locating devices and utility maps.
• Compare real-world conditions to records to identify errors and omissions.
• Verify locations of client facilities within specified dig extents.
• Examine and investigate damages with required documentation.
• Perform all work safely.

As a Utility Locator, you will respond to dig ticket requests from contractor crews to locate, identify and mark existing client infrastructure and meet compliance with Company, State and Federal processes, procedures, rules and regulations.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?

• Support underground facility construction activities with a focus on damage prevention and the protection of multiple utilities' infrastructure.
• Locate and mark underground facilities using various industry tools, standards and methods, including the use of various locating devices and utility maps.
• Compare real-world conditions to record documentation to identify errors and omissions.
• Verify locations of all client facilities within specified dig extents
• Examine and investigate all damages with their purview creating all required documentation.
• Perform all work safely.
