Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Utility Crew Loader Operator at LeoTerra Development you will play a crucial role in supporting various utility projects. Your responsibilities will encompass the safe and efficient operation of heavy machinery, primarily loaders, with a focus on utility-related tasks. Key duties include:

• Equipment Operation:
  • Operate loaders to perform tasks such as grading and material handling in the context of utility projects.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient use of the equipment to meet project specifications.
• Utility Installation:
  • Assist in the installation of utility lines, including water, sewer, and drainage systems.
  • Collaborate with the utility crew to prepare trenches for utility placement.
• Load and unload materials required for utility construction, such as pipes, fittings, and backfill materials as well as keeping up with bedding materials.
• Transport materials to designated locations within the construction site.
• Site Maintenance:
  • Support the utility crew in maintaining a clean and organized construction site.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Safety Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, with a particular emphasis on utility-related safety protocols.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safe working conditions.
• Communication:
  • Collaborate closely with the utility crew, supervisors, and other construction professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Loader Operator in utility construction or related field.
• Proficient in the operation of loaders and other heavy machinery.
• Strong understanding of utility construction processes and safety requirements.
• Any additional relevant certifications related to utility construction will be an asset.
• Ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects as required.
• Capable of working collaboratively in a utility crew environment.
• Frequently performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as standing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and handling of materials, equipment, and tools.
• Lifts, pushes, pulls, and carries heavy objects, machinery, and tools.
• Works around vehicles and machinery with moving parts.
• Exposed to exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel.
• May be exposed to harsh weather conditions.
