Qualifications

Job description

What to expect: Martin Marietta is seeking a Pit Loader Operator to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a Pit Loader and maintaining the quality of product stockpiles. The pit loader will maintain safe working speeds and promote site safety by asserting leadership of truck drivers onsite.

Locations: East Alamance Quarry, Haw River, NC; Reidsville Quarry, Reidsville, NC

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with Saturdays as necessary

Typical duties of a Pit Loader Operator may include:

1. Operating a pit loader within company guidelines and safety standards
2. Completing daily pre- and post-inspections of work areas, ensuring they are equipped with adequate berms and roadways
3. Performing pre-shift safety inspections on equipment and reporting needed repairs to the supervisor
4. Ensuring safe operations around conveyors, surge piles, and crushers
5. Performing daily preventative maintenance such as tire pressure checks, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks, and inspecting moving parts for proper function
6. Maintaining safe traffic flow throughout the site
7. Operating other equipment such as excavators and haul trucks safely as needed
8. Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
9. Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor

You may be a good fit if you:

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities of this position
• Have experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment, and/or equipment used in processing plants
• Have at least six (6) months of experience in the operation and maintenance of a front-end loader (preferred)
