Essex Solutions Inc. is seeking a Utility Laborer to support critical production systems such as enamel, quench, evaporator, and caustic equipment. The role includes hazardous waste handling, general plant cleanup, and strong emphasis on safety and housekeeping.

Responsibilities include inspecting systems, maintaining inventories, and performing routine maintenance and cleaning tasks across the enamel area and related facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year of related experience.
• Must be able to lift 45 pounds and perform housekeeping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Inspects enamel hose connections for leaks and replaces gaskets; reports repairs beyond scope.
• Monitors hazardous waste collection levels and solid waste drums; stores appropriately.
• Checks fluid levels in mineral spirits, power strip and alcohol tank; adds or replaces as needed.
• Maintains inventory on ethanol, mineral spirits and power strip.
• Cleans funnels and equipment used to dispense enamel from totes to drums.
• Sweeps enamel rooms and cleaning rooms; empties trash weekly; stocks sink area daily.
• Ensures daily tow-motor is inspected and charged at shift end.
• Separates pallets and moves to appropriate areas; handles baling and loading for shipping.
• Performs preventative maintenance checks on the scrubber; identifies wet floors with signage.
• Checks aisles for trash/debris; monitors chemical storage for releases.
