Job summary

Utz Quality Foods, LLC is expanding its Kings Mountain, NC manufacturing facility and seeks a dedicated Utility II to join the team. The role provides backup across production lines, supporting equipment operation, sanitation, and inventory handling.

You will cover other Utilities and Operators as needed, operate touch screens, move materials with forklifts, and ensure materials are consumed accurately while maintaining safety and housekeeping.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to learn operator roles over a 3-month onboarding.
• Previous food-industry experience, including fryer or packaging equipment, is required.
• Ability to multi-task and communicate clearly in writing and speech.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and operate basic hand tools.
• Must follow all food safety rules and be team oriented.

Responsibilities

Job Description

At Utz Quality Foods, we have expanded our Kings Mountain, NC manufacturing facility and looking for a dedicatedUtility IIto join our team. The Utility II assists as back up in all the production processes and positions by supporting the production areas including Operating equipment, sanitation, and stocking/consumption of inventory.

Responsibilities:

• Provide coverage for other Utilities, Operators, , and/or Co-workers as needed according to established requirements and procedures for the assigned tasks. (For more information, review all other job postings)
• Operate touch screens and various pieces of production and data entry equipment required for operation of equipment in assigned area when filling in for operators.
• Move and place necessary materials to support production needs using forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Ensure the accurate consumption of materials from production to Inventory
• Must be able to work one weekend a month for End of Month Inventory
• Organize new inventory according to best practices; double-stacking is required
• Ensure adherence to established safety standards and proactively communicating and addressing issues for the plant supporting a zero-accident culture.
• Ensure work area, machinery and other equipment are kept clean and well maintained.
• Proactively identify, communicate, and where applicable, address safety and equipment related issues.
• Providing suggestions on continuous improvement opportunities.
• Works with management and fellow associates to ensure Food Safety programs are followed.
• Reports food, office or operational safety problems to a supervisor or manager for initiating action.
• Performs other duties as assigned that will impact and support the overall outcome of company and department objectives.

Requirements:
