Job summary

Kern-Liebers- is seeking a dedicated custodial worker to maintain cleanliness in production areas and assist with material handling. The role requires operating a forklift and pallet jack, lifting up to 50 lbs, and standing for long periods.

The position offers a base rate of $18.59 per hour with incentives and attendance bonuses, and inclusion in a unionized environment (UAW Local No. 12). A 60-day probationary period applies with benefit eligibility afterward.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

• Performs routine custodial work in all the production areas such as sweeping and cleaning, trash removal.
• Removes scrap and refuse. Empties waste receptacles. Uses brooms or hand operated power scrubbing, and vacuuming equipment.
• Uses forklift trucks to remove scrap and trash.
• Uses company vehicle for pick-up and delivery of various items.
• Responsible for the upkeep of tools and machines. Any miscellaneous job as assigned.
• Performs material handling functions which may include loading, unloading or moving material within the plant, yard or work site.
• Counts, packs, stores, handles and delivers materials, supplies, in process and finished goods to production and shipping areas.
• May support production and other departments as needed.
• Performs sorting manually or with automated system, quality checks, basket changes, backup for break coverage to maintain equipment running, etc.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks, for example changing oil.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Working knowledge of 5s
• Valid driver's license
• Able to operate a forklift and pallet jack
• Must be able to stand, walk and bend for most of the shift
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
• Some climbing, crawling and/or kneeling may be required

Base Rate = $18.59/hr with opportunity to earn an additional 8% incentive and 3% attendance incentive weekly
