Job summary

Kern-Liebers USA in Ohio is seeking a production support associate responsible for custodial duties, materials handling, and basic maintenance to keep the plant running smoothly.

You will operate forklift and pallet jack, load and unload materials, assist in production and shipping areas, and perform routine cleaning and quality checks.

Requirements include a high school diploma, valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and prolonged standing; 60-day probation with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of 5S.
• Valid driver's license.
• Able to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
• Must be able to stand, walk and bend for most of the shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine custodial work in all production areas such as sweeping and cleaning, trash removal.
• Removes scrap and refuse; empties waste receptacles; uses broom, scrubber, and vacuuming equipment.
• Operates forklift trucks to move scrap and trash.
• Moves materials within the plant, yard or work site as part of material handling.
• Counts, packs, stores, and delivers materials, supplies, in-process and finished goods to production and shipping areas.

Job description

• Performs routine custodial work in all the production areas such as sweeping and cleaning, trash removal
• Removes scrap and refuse. Empties waste receptacles. Uses brooms or hand operated power scrubbing, and vacuuming equipment
• Uses forklift trucks to remove scrap and trash
• Uses company vehicle for pick-up and delivery of various items
• Responsible for the upkeep of tools and machines. Any miscellaneous job as assigned
• Performs material handling functions which may include loading, unloading or moving material within the plant, yard or work site
• Counts, packs, stores, handles and delivers materials, supplies, in process and finished goods to production and shipping areas
• May support production and other departments as needed
• Performs sorting manually or with automated system, quality checks, basket changes, backup for break coverage to maintain equipment running, etc
• Performs minor maintenance tasks, for example changing oil
