Job summary

KERN-LIEBERS USA in Holland, OH is seeking a dependable custodian to perform routine cleaning, material handling, and shop floor upkeep. You will operate a forklift and pallet jack, assist with moving materials, and support production as needed.

The role starts with a 60-day probation during which medical, dental, vision, AD&D, STD, LTD coverage and a 401(k) with a 4% match are offered, along with 11 holidays. Base rate is $18.59 per hour with weekly incentive opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of 5S.
• Valid driver's license.
• Able to operate forklift and pallet jack.
• Must be able to stand, walk and bend for most of the shift.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Some climbing, crawling and/or kneeling may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine custodial work in production areas (sweeping/cleaning, trash removal).
• Removes scrap and refuse; empties waste receptacles; uses cleaning equipment.
• Uses forklift trucks to remove scrap and trash.
• Uses company vehicle for pick-up and delivery of items.
• Upkeep of tools and machines; performs miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
• Performs material handling including loading/unloading/moving materials within plant/yards.
• Counts, packs, stores, and delivers materials to production and shipping areas.
• Supports production and other departments as needed.
• Performs sorting and quality checks; backup for break coverage; maintains equipment operation.
• Performs minor maintenance tasks (e.g., changing oil).

• Performs routine custodial work in all the production areas such as sweeping and cleaning, trash removal
• Removes scrap and refuse. Empties waste receptacles. Uses brooms or hand operated power scrubbing, and vacuuming equipment
• Uses forklift trucks to remove scrap and trash
• Uses company vehicle for pick-up and delivery of various items
• Responsible for the upkeep of tools and machines. Any miscellaneous job as assigned
• Performs material handling functions which may include loading, unloading or moving material within the plant, yard or work site
• Counts, packs, stores, handles and delivers materials, supplies, in process and finished goods to production and shipping areas
• May support production and other departments as needed
• Performs sorting manually or with automated system, quality checks, basket changes, backup for break coverage to maintain equipment running, etc
• Performs minor maintenance tasks, for example changing oil
