Job summary

Eocene Environmental Group, Inc. is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to manage vegetation for utility clients in outdoor settings.

You will conduct inventories, plan work with contractors, and ensure safe, compliant vegetation management across diverse landscapes. We offer employee ownership, robust safety culture, and opportunities for certifications and professional development as the team grows nationwide.

Qualifications

• Degree in forestry or related field; experience in utility line clearance preferred.
• Proficiency in species identification and invasive species knowledge.
• Ability to obtain ISA Arborist Certification within 12 months.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weather.
• Proficient in map navigation; GIS experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contact property owners and public agencies regarding pruning and/or removals.
• Conduct tree and brush inventories.
• Conduct hazard tree inspections and evaluations.
• Plan work for tree contractors.
• Gather and manage field data, including tree species, size, and distance from conductors.
• Validate data across databases to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in the work area.
• Enforce on-the-job safety practices.
• Carry and utilize materials, tools, and equipment at the work site.
