Job summary

Eocene Environmental Group, Inc. is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to work in the field, directly with utility clients and property owners to ensure safe and sustainable vegetation management.

The role emphasizes field data collection, inventories, hazard assessments, and coordination of capital projects. The position requires forestry education and ISA Arborist/Utility Specialist credentials, with travel and rugged terrain work as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Degree in forestry or related field and/or experience in utility line clearance.
• Minimum of two years of experience in UVM consulting.
• Must hold ISA Certified Arborist Certification.
• Must be an ISA Utility Specialist within 6 months.
• Commercial Pesticide License within 6 months.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to travel and work in rugged terrain and inclement weather.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and data collection software (GIS experience a plus).

Responsibilities

• Contact property owners and agencies regarding pruning/removals.
• Conduct tree and brush inventories.
• Conduct hazard tree inspections and evaluations.
• Oversee capital projects.
• Perform regular safety audits.
• Gather and manage field data (tree species, size, distance from conductors).
• Verify data across databases and ensure accurate reporting.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in the work area.
