Job summary

Kokosing is seeking a Utility Foreman for projects in the Northern VA/DC/MD area. You will supervise crews, review plans, and ensure work meets specifications while maintaining safety and production efficiency.

Responsibilities include planning sequences with leadership, directing equipment use, inspecting subcontractor work, and maintaining detailed time and production records. Strong focus on safety and on-site leadership required.

Qualifications

• Five years related experience and/or training.
• Experience with water/storm/sewer pipe installation, grading for roadways, etc.

Responsibilities

• Review documents and plans, answer questions before activities.
• Examine blueprints to determine dimensions of structures.
• Direct and train crew per contract drawings within budget.
• Act as OSHA defined competent person on site.
• Plan ahead to ensure materials are on hand when needed.
• Plan sequence of activities with Superintendent and Project Engineer.
• Assign tasks such as operating machinery and installing pipes.
• Inspect subcontractor work for conformance to specs.
• Supervise utility installations and grading for roadwork.
• Maintain time sheets and production records with locations.
• Lead daily crew huddle to review work and train new members.
• Enforce company policies and safety regulations.
• Estimate materials and supervise equipment setup.
• Keep crew informed of progress and problems.
• Conduct weekly safety meetings and document attendance.
