Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Manual Crew Foreman/Foreperson for Carrollton/ Carroll County, Ohio. This on-site role requires CDL capability, climbing experience, and hands-on leadership on utility tree projects.

Salary is hourly ($25.00–$26.00) with comprehensive benefits from day one. You will mentor crew members, ensure safety standards, and coordinate with clients to deliver reliable service, supported by Davey’s training and incentive programs.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and willingness to complete Davey Tree orientations.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred (Class A/B) or willingness to obtain.
• Line clearance experience or related tree work is required; pesticide licenses preferred where applicable.
• ISA/TCIA certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prune and remove trees and limbs as needed to maintain clearance.
• Remove damaged branches from utility lines and roofs.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Inspect job sites and plan/execute tasks safely.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and lifts.
• Mentor and train new employees.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Manual Crew Foreman/Foreperson, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing Carrollton / Carroll County, Ohio.

Job Duties

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

What We're Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain
• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
