The Solid Waste Management Division is one of 11 divisions in the City of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Department. The LTU team provides transit, transportation and utilities services year-round to the citizens of Lincoln. Nearly 600 team members make up LTU. We are currently seeking to fill the role ofUtility Equipment Operator I - Solid Waste. This position requires skilled work in the operation and maintenance of light and heavy equipment at a public solid waste facilities such as landfill, waste transfer, composting and recyclables collection sites.

Schedule:Four 10-hour days, one of which will be either Saturday or Sunday. Some holidays.

THIS SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION IS SUBJECT TO MANDATORY DRUG TESTING POLICIES AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.

Qualifications : Graduation from high school or equivalent and six months of experience in the operation and maintenance of trucks and construction equipment heavier than pickup trucks; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Necessary Special Requirements : Valid driver's license. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required or the ability to obtain within 60 days of appointment.
