An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator to join their Environmental Services Department. This role involves operating essential machinery such as backhoes, dozers, and compactors in the maintenance of the County's landfill. The successful candidate will ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment while performing routine maintenance checks. Work is performed for the Environmental Services Department and involves the operation of the following; backhoe, dozer, compactor or scraper in the performance of construction and maintenance of the County’s landfill.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS-
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS-
WORKING CONDITIONS - Work is mostly performed outdoors operating equipment. Subject to extreme weather conditions. Exposure to fumes from exhaust on equipment. Exposure to high noise levels.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Work in generally medium in nature involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, operating equipment, with moderate amounts of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lbs.
WRITTEN/PERFORMANCE EXAMINATIONS
No written or performance examination will be required for this position. Applicants are screened and certified based on an evaluation of their education, training, experience and other requirements as outlined in this Position Announcement and denoted on their Job Application and responses to the Supplemental Questionnaire.
