Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking an engineer in Jefferson City to join the regulatory/utility analysis team. The role supports depreciation, generation, transmission, distribution, and production cost modeling while preparing testimony for PSC hearings.

You will serve as a technical resource across electrical, gas, or generation systems and contribute to research strategies and model selection. You should bring an ABET‑accredited engineering degree, 0–4 years of related experience, and Missouri PE

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree is required.
• 0–4 years of progressive engineering experience; regulatory/utility experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer license in Missouri required for PE positions.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing.
• Experience with depreciation software preferred.
• Experience with computer simulation and databases preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong analytical, writing and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge across depreciation, generation, transmission, distribution, services, construction, production and/or resource planning.
• Prepare testimony in PSC hearing on utility rates.
• Serve as an engineering technical resource in electrical, gas or generation systems or in specific aspects of modeling.
• Formulate research strategies and select/apply analytical methods or computer models to provide high-quality information to decision makers.
• Improve verbal and written communication to explain complex technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Occasional in- and out-of-state travel may be required.
