Job summary

Communication Data Link is seeking a Drafting/Permitting Technician to support the early stages of projects. The role will draft layouts for utility construction, read and interpret documents, and coordinate permit requirements with surrounding cities.

Most work will be at a desk with some field reviews at job sites; this is a full-time, in-person position in Grimes, IA, with overtime potential during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• Adaptable to meet changing business needs
• Outgoing, confident with excellent communication skills (oral & written)
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
• Strong follow up and tracking of multiple tasks

Responsibilities

• Drafting layouts for utility construction projects including route and structure planning
• Read and interpret construction documents from multiple customers
• Knowledgeable about permit requirements for each surrounding city
• Submit and obtain all permits needed to facilitate cable installation
