Job summary

SSP America is hiring for a Utility role at our Houston restaurant portfolio, including El Tiempo, The Breakfast Klub, Katz Coffee and Bistro, The Annie and The Kitchen. You will maintain clean, sanitary workspaces and support guest service by ensuring clean surfaces, stocked areas, and timely service, while adhering to safety standards.

You will assist in food service flow, support dishwashing, and help transport supplies across storage and kitchen zones.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; ability to follow sanitation standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain hygienic work areas to create a positive guest experience.
• Maintain cleanliness of surfaces and equipment such as floors, walls, and hoods.
• Remove refuse to designated areas and assist in dining area resets.
• Clear tables, transport service ware to kitchen, and load/unload supplies.
• Wash dishes by hand or in dishwasher; store properly.
• Clean equipment with chemicals per sanitary standards.
• Assist guests with requests and relay needs to servers.
• Stock, rotate, and check food item temperatures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Here are a few things you can expect as a Utility at SSP America:

• Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
• Maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment (i.e., floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas, etc.)
• Remove refuse to designated areas.
• Clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings, as needed and transports service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
• Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to their proper storage place.
• Clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards; may include the use of heavy equipment
• Assist all guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server/supervisor
• Load/unload supply trucks transferring between storage and work areas
• Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items
• Other duties as assigned.
