Job summary

Continental's CCS Taubman Cafe in Detroit is seeking a full-time Utility Team Member to support dining room and kitchen operations. You will collect used dishes, load dishwashing machines, stack clean items, and assist with overall cleanliness inside and out of the facility.

This role requires shifts, including evenings or weekends. You will remove garbage, sanitize surfaces, maintain stock of cleaning supplies, and ensure enough clean pots, pans, dishes and utensils during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in shifts including evenings and weekends.
• Able to follow instructions and multitask in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong sanitation and cleanliness standards are required.
• Willingness to learn kitchen operations and support teammates.

Responsibilities

• Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas
• Load and unload dishwashing machines
• Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots, delicate china)
• Store clean pots, pans, dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
• Ensure there are always enough clean pots, pans, dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours
• Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and notify supervisor when necessary
• Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any issues
• Remove garbage regularly
• Sanitize the kitchen area, including floors, walls, doors and handles
