Job summary

BizTek People, Inc. in Reno, NV is seeking a contract designer for electric and/or gas infrastructure projects.

The role involves designing new or expanded service and/or system improvements and coordinating with customers, contractors, and utilities to ensure successful project delivery. The position requires a High School Diploma with at least 1 year of related experience and knowledge of relevant standards, tariffs, and regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 1 year of related work experience.
• Knowledge of electric and/or gas design and construction practices.
• Familiar with applicable federal, state and local rules and regulations governing electric/gas sub-transmission and distribution construction.

Responsibilities

• Performs design work for electric and/or gas new or expanded service or system improvements.
• Maintains knowledge of standards, tariffs and regulatory requirements to provide cost-effective designs; creates preliminary estimates.
• Identifies customer needs and expectations for electric and/or gas utility requirements of project development.
• Serves as central point of contact for developers, contractors, engineering firms and utilities from inception to completion of projects.
• Focuses on improving external customer satisfaction.
• Prepares and presents financial agreements to customers ensuring complete contracts.
• Conducts pre-construction meetings with inspectors, foremen and managers as necessary.
• May participate in after-hours on-call rotation and assist in restoration during storms.
