Job summary

Church & Dwight Co., Inc. is seeking a Utility Operator - Days at our Old Fort, OH facility. You will perform housekeeping and ancillary plant duties, operate a forklift, and handle materials to support Bi-Carb operations.

The role supports the production environment and safety standards. We manufacture A&H Baking Soda, A&H Cat Litter, and A&H Unit Dose Detergent. Candidates should have a high school diploma, forklift experience, and manufacturing background to thrive in this team-oriented

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months forklift experience preferred.
• Manufacturing/industrial experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties across plant areas.
• Load/unload materials and assist in bi-carb operations.
• Set up plant cafeteria for meetings and training.
• Assemble Cat Litter Display pallets per orders.
• Re-stack and/or re-palletize up to 50lb. units as needed.
• Transport bagged raw materials for Bi-Carb operations.
• Grounds keeping duties including mowing, snow removal and painting.

Role Summary

Responsible for performing various housekeeping and ancillary functions for the plant.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping or janitorial duties to include sweeping, shoveling, and cleaning of departments and RBC floors of baking soda or other residue including loading docks and pertinent outside areas.
• Performs cleaning & scraping of trays in the dryer units during the bi-weekly column wash. Involves confined space entry and working at heights with fall protection.
• Sets up the plant cafeteria for plant manager’s meetings, training sessions, and other plant activities.
• Assembles Cat Litter Display pallets as dictated by Customer Orders.
• Re-stack and/or re-palletize up to 50lb. units as necessary to meet customer requirements.
• Transporting (Lifting & Carrying) bagged raw materials for use in Bi-Carb operations
• Grounds keeping duties to include but not limited to mowing, trimming, snow removal and interior / exterior painting.
• Sort pallets by lifting and removing unusable pallets.
• Trains for other department’s positions to become qualified to fill-in for short and long-term absences.
• Performs numerous non-routine duties as assigned.
• Work any shift during the week as well as weekends
• Operate forklift in a safe and timely manner.

Education, Training, And Experience Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma / GED is required
• Six months forklift experience preferred
• Manufacturing/Industrial experience required

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Use safe operating procedures and judgment
• Follow all facility rules to maintain quality and integrity of both raw materials and finished products
• Lift 50 pounds consistently
• Familiar with the plant food safety program and basic HACCP principles
• As part of the essential functions of this position, the employee must comply with the Motor Vehicle Use Policy of Church & Dwight Co., Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates ("C&D" or the "Company"), which includes maintaining a valid driver's license, consenting to regular Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) reviews, and reporting traffic violations and accidents.
