Job summary

The City of Temple is seeking a Utilities Crew Leader to supervise field crews, manage work orders, and oversee water and wastewater infrastructure maintenance. The role requires operating heavy equipment and ensuring safety and compliance with city policies.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, two years in Utilities, and demonstrated leadership. A valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement and TCEQ licenses are required.

Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and training for assigned crew members.
• Plans, coordinates, and orders the necessary parts, supplies, and equipment for assigned work orders.
• Inspects all equipment before use and reports problems to supervisor or to fleet maintenance.
• Ensures that all safety policies are adhered to, safety equipment inspected and used, and that PPE is properly utilized.
• Prepares work orders, documenting parts, hours, equipment used and all other pertinent data in the work order management system.
• Performs all duties of a Utility Technician as needed.
• Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides supervision and training for assigned crew members
• Plans, coordinates, and orders the necessary parts, supplies, and equipment for assigned work orders
• Inspects all equipment before use and reports problems to supervisor or to fleet maintenance
