Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Utility Coordinator to join the Charlotte or Raleigh, NC team. You will manage utility relocation planning, coordination with utility owners, and field oversight for roadway and bridge projects in North Carolina.

The role requires 3–5 years in utility coordination with DOT or municipal projects, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in MS Office, MicroStation, and Teams. Field work is 30% with office work 70% of the time.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of utility coordination experience with NCDOT or municipal projects.
• Experience with NCDOT Utility Relocation or Encroachment Agreements or municipal agreements is required.
• Exceptional organizational skills are required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, Microsoft Teams, and other design software.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; advanced education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze survey information, drawings, blueprints, or topographical data to plan utility relocations.
• Organize and review design information from multiple utility sources for accuracy; ensure compliance with project specs.
• Conduct meetings to achieve schedule milestones.
• Use CAD/engineering software to prepare Utility by Others plans and documents.
