Job summary

On Target Utility Services is seeking a Safety Specialist to support development, training, and enforcement of safety initiatives across utility construction and maintenance services. The role involves risk assessment, policy implementation, field safety audits, and incident investigations.

The candidate will collaborate with the Safety & Workforce Development Manager, travel extensively, and adapt to a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; BS and/or master's degree in safety engineering or related field highly preferred.
• 4-6 years' experience in corporate safety environment and/or leadership position.
• First Aid/CPR/AED skills and training ability.
• CUSP, CSP, or CIH certification preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of all relevant safety standards/codes/policies/guidelines in accordance with Federal, State, Company, and customer standards.
• Monitor, analyze, and interpret new and/or changing standards/codes/policies/guidelines with Safety & Workforce Development Manager.
• Communicate with internal and external teams to provide direction on safety standards and provide training.
• Perform safety trainings and coach/mentor employees to ensure safety initiatives.
• Maintain safety reporting systems/files and provide reports as requested.
• Coordinate information from all business units to promote a culture of safety and productivity.
