Job summary

IB Abel in Kentucky is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee Transmission and Distribution utility construction projects from start to finish, focusing on planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control to ensure safety, on-time delivery, and client satisfaction.

The role requires a minimum of five years in project management, proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, MS Project), and the ability to travel to various offices and job sites.

Qualifications

• An acceptable combination of education and/or work experience within the contractor industry (Electric Utility preferred) with Project Management Certification desired.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Project Management.
• Proficient in MS Office applications with strong skills in Excel, Word, and MS Project.
• Local to Pennsylvania (preferable) but with regular travel to other offices, customer facilities, jobsites and yard locations for offsite meetings (flexibility to work from home when appropriate).
• A “can-do” attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to collaborate effectively with various teams.

Responsibilities

• Safety, Quality & Project Management: review documents, scheduling, and outage planning; coordinate with operations; ensure on-site readiness of vehicles, equipment, and tooling; assist in safety plan development and client submission.
• Customer Relations: service client promptly; coordinate with owners/engineers/subcontractors; manage daily interactions; attend final project walk-down; close punch-list tasks.
• Internal/External Communication: pre-construction planning; distribute documents; conduct pre-construction meetings; visit site weekly; coordinate with stakeholders; assist Estimating with new project estimates.
• Financial Management: submit weekly revenue/cost reports; review cost-to-completion with Accounting; manage change orders; reconcile project charges and POs.
