Job summary

Charter Next Generation in Lexington, OH is seeking a Utility CDL Driver to move product between production buildings and local warehouses. You will perform daily vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and follow CDL/DOT and company safety standards to keep operations running smoothly.

You will work a rotating schedule with 15 days per month on a 3-4 day cycle, including night shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am. The role offers employee ownership and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A license and Medical Card.
• Pass all DOT requirements to drive.
• Pass CNG road test.
• Able to lift up to 65 pounds.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Transporting Product: Safely drive CNG trucks and trailers to warehouse locations within the Ohio Region.
• Local Shuttling: Move product to/from production warehouses per schedules.
• Pre-/Post-Trip Inspections: Inspect vehicles and trailers daily.
• Equipment Maintenance: Report repairs to Fleet Manager for compliance and safety.
• Safety Compliance: Follow CDL, DOT, and SOPs for a safe environment.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
• Training: Complete monthly training on safety and procedures.

The Role

You will operate CNG trucks and trailers to transport product between production buildings and local warehouse locations, ensuring efficient and reliable movement of materials. Working in a supportive team environment, you’ll complete daily vehicle inspections, communicate maintenance needs, and follow all CDL, DOT, and company safety standards while contributing to a safe and seamless production process that keeps our operations moving

Schedule: Work only 15 days per month with our unique rotating 3-4 day schedule

• Night Shift:7:00pm - 7:00am (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday + alternating Saturdays)

What You'll Do

• Transporting Product:
  Safely drive CNG trucks and trailers to various warehouse locations throughout the Ohio Region, ensuring timely delivery and pick-up of products.
• Local Shuttling:
  Transport product to and from production warehouses, following designated routes and schedules.
• Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections:
  Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of all vehicles and trailers using Geotab to ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
• Equipment Maintenance:
  Communicate any necessary repairs to the Fleet Manager to ensure equipment compliance with company standards, food safety requirements, and applicable laws.
• Safety Compliance:
  Adhere to all AIB, BRC Standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain a safe work environment.
• Regulatory Compliance:
  Maintain a current knowledge of and comply with CDL, DOT, and all company/plant-specific safety and operational standards.
• Training:
  Complete monthly CNG cornerstone training to stay updated on safety and operational procedures.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and lift up to 65 pounds
• At least 21 years of age
• Current and Valid Class A License & Medical Card
• Pass all DOT requirements to drive
• Pass CNG road test
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with measuring tools
• Strong communication skills and positive attitude
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a technical environment
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
• Wages ranging from $23.00 per hour.
• Additional $2.50 per hournight shift differential.
