Job summary

Resort Lifestyle Communities in South Carolina is seeking a friendly Utility Buffet Server to create welcoming dining experiences for residents. You’ll greet guests, present menu options, take accurate orders, and tailor portions to individual preferences during dinner service.

Key duties include maintaining cleanliness, handling dishware safely, operating pizza ovens and sharp tools as required, and responding to feedback with professionalism.

Qualifications

• 18+ age requirement to use pizza oven, knives and other tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with residents, guests, and employees.
• No prior work experience required.
• Must obtain food handler permits as required by local ordinances within two weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming dining experience by greeting residents and guests with warmth and presenting menu options clearly.
• Take accurate orders and tailor portion sizes to individual preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and handle dishware to prevent breakage and ensure safety.
• Keep the exhibition line attended and visually appealing during meal hours for seamless service.
• Respond to resident feedback professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and confidently, including pizza ovens and sharp tools, following safety standards (18+).
• Support the team and complete additional tasks as assigned by Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
• Maintain strict sanitation standards in all food preparation and production areas.

About The Role

As a Utility Buffet Server, you’ll do more than serve meals, you’ll create meaningful dining experiences that bring joy to our residents. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll share ideas, respond thoughtfully to feedback, and contribute to a positive, caring community environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older to use the pizza oven, meat slicer or knives.
• Ability to work Monday-Friday 5:00pm-7:00pm.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English with residents, guests, and employees.
• Ability to secure required food handler permits as required by local ordinances within two (2) weeks of hire.
• No previous work experience is required.
• State regulations may require certain applicants to obtain a work permit before beginning employment. If this applies to you based on your age and state of residence, the Community Manager at the location where you are applying will provide guidance on the necessary steps. Any required work permit must be submitted to the Community at the time of hire to ensure compliance with state requirements.

• Maintain strict sanitation standards in all food preparation and production areas.
