Job summary

Robinwood Retirement Community is seeking a Utility Buffet Server to create warm dining experiences for residents and guests. You will greet guests, present menu options, take accurate orders, and tailor portions to individual preferences.

Work evenings Monday through Friday, maintain cleanliness, operate kitchen equipment safely, and respond to feedback with professionalism in a caring community setting.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old to handle utensils and kitchen tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with residents, guests, and staff.
  • No prior work experience required.

  • Create a welcoming dining experience by greeting residents and guests, taking accurate orders, and tailoring portions to preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and handle dishware carefully to ensure safety and quality.
  • Keep the exhibition line attended and visually appealing during meal hours.
  • Respond professionally to feedback, address concerns, and escalate issues when needed.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely, including pizza ovens and sharp tools, following safety standards.
  • Support the team by completing additional tasks as directed by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Maintain sanitation standards in all food preparation and production areas.

About The Role

As a Utility Buffet Server, you’ll do more than serve meals, you’ll create meaningful dining experiences that bring joy to our residents. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll share ideas, respond thoughtfully to feedback, and contribute to a positive, caring community environment.

What We’re Looking For
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older to use the pizza oven, meat slicer or knives.
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday 5:00pm-7:00pm.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English with residents, guests, and employees.
  • Ability to secure required food handler permits as required by local ordinances within two (2) weeks of hire.
  • No previous work experience is required.
  • State regulations may require certain applicants to obtain a work permit before beginning employment. If this applies to you based on your age and state of residence, the Community Manager at the location where you are applying will provide guidance on the necessary steps. Any required work permit must be submitted to the Community at the time of hire to ensure compliance with state requirements.

  • Ensure seamless service by keeping the exhibition line attended and visually appealing throughout meal hours.
  • Engage with professionalism when responding to feedback, addressing concerns promptly, and escalating issues to leadership when necessary.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and confidently, including pizza ovens and sharp tools, following all safety standards (must be at least 18 years of age or older).
  • Contribute to team success by completing support work and additional tasks assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
  • Maintain strict sanitation standards in all food preparation and production areas.
