Job summary

The City of Bountiful Utilities Finance Department is seeking a part-time Utilities Billing Clerk to handle payments, customer inquiries, and clerical duties. The role operates Monday through Thursday from 1 PM to 6 PM and reports to the Utilities Supervisor.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 1–2 years of customer service experience, with the ability to pass background checks and drug testing. Pays $23.06 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience.
• Must be bondable and pass required background checks and drug tests.
• Ability to learn utility billing software and handling payments.

Responsibilities

• Process and verify utility bill payments and revenues.
• Edit and verify receipts and charges for revenue accounts.
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve delinquencies.
• Prepare daily cash drawer summaries and deposit slips.
• Input transactions into computer databases and manage service orders.
• Explain billing policies to customers.
• Collect deposits and assist with disconnects/connects.
• Assist in adjusting accounts and refunds when needed.
