Job summary

Sagora is seeking a dedicated Utility to support dining room and kitchen operations at Asher Point of Texarkana. You will collect, wash, and store dishes, maintain cleanliness, and assist with meal service to residents in a courteous, timely manner.

Average responsibilities include coordinating with culinary leadership, ensuring safety with proper utensil handling, and assisting in monthly deep-cleaning tasks and setup for mealtime service.

Qualifications

• 6+ months experience in a commercial kitchen preferred.
• Food handler’s permit as required by state/local authority.
• Excellent communication skills; able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Collect dishes and utensils during meals.
• Wash and sanitize dishes and utensils to high standards.
• Monitor dishwasher temperatures daily and report issues.
• Replace damaged dishes or utensils to keep residents safe.
• Set up tables and beverage stations; refill supplies.
• Serve meals promptly and courteously; deliver to rooms as needed.
• Dispose of trash properly and clean the kitchen after each shift.
• Deep-clean equipment and sweep/mop floors daily.

Notify the Culinary Director promptly of any unacceptable temperature readings.Remove from service all cracked or broken dishes or damaged utensils that might be hazardous to residents. Notify the Culinary Director of damage.Store dishes, glassware, and utensils properly for use at the next mealtime.Under the direction of the Culinary Director, follow established methods of meal preparation and decorationSet up tables and beverage station and refill all salt, pepper, and sugar dispensers.As directed, assure all salads and desserts are properly portioned.Serve meals to residents promptly and in a friendly and courteous manner. Deliver meals to residents’ rooms as needed.Dispose of all trash in a proper manner.Clean dishwashing machine inside and out after each shift.
