Job summary

Sagora Senior Living is hiring a part-time Utility at The Harrison of Wildwood, responsible for dining room and kitchen cleanup, meal service, and resident hospitality. You will collect dishes, assist with meal prep under the Culinary Director, and ensure cleanliness and timely service across shifts.

Qualified candidates have experience in commercial kitchens, a valid food handler's permit, and strong communication skills. Sagora promotes growth within a Great Place to Work environment.

Qualifications

  • Six months or more of experience in a commercial kitchen operation is preferred.
  • Must have a food handler's permit as required by state/local authority.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Ideal candidate is caring, organized and able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

  • Collect dishes and utensils from tables during mealtimes.
  • Wash dishes and utensils to the highest cleanliness standards.
  • Eliminate stains from all utensils.
  • Monitor dishwasher temperature and report issues promptly.
  • Remove cracked or damaged dishes or utensils.
  • Store dishes, glassware, and utensils properly for next meal.
  • Follow established meal prep and decoration methods under Cook/Director.
  • Set up tables and beverage station; refill salt, pepper, sugar.
  • Portion salads and desserts as directed.
  • Serve meals to residents promptly and courteously; deliver as needed.
  • Dispose of trash properly.
  • Clean dishwasher inside and out after each shift; deep-clean monthly.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floor, walk-in, and freezer nightly.

The Utility is responsible for all areas of meal clean up and dining prep. The purpose of this position is to assist the Dining Room Manager and/or Culinary Director in guaranteeing a high level of hospitality, service, and satisfaction for residents and guests by managing the dining room and kitchen clean up service.

What does Utility at Sagora do?
  • Collect dishes and kitchen utensils from the tables during mealtimes.
  • Wash dishes and kitchen utensils, assuring highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Eliminate stains from all utensils.
  • Monitor the temperature of the dishwashing machine on a daily basis to ensure that the machine is operating properly. Notify the Culinary Director promptly of any unacceptable temperature readings.
  • Remove from service all cracked or broken dishes or damaged utensils that might be hazardous to residents. Notify the Culinary Director of damage.
  • Store dishes, glassware, and utensils properly for use at the next mealtime.
  • Under the direction of the Culinary Director, follow established methods of meal preparation and decoration
  • Set up tables and beverage station and refill all salt, pepper, and sugar dispensers.
  • As directed, assure all salads and desserts are properly portioned.
  • Serve meals to residents promptly and in a friendly and courteous manner. Deliver meals to residents' rooms as needed.
  • Dispose of all trash in a proper manner.
  • Clean dishwashing machine inside and out after each shift. Deep-clean kitchen on a monthly basis.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floor, walk-in refrigerator, and freezer each evening.
